Shopping for Health 2013 Conference

The Boulders Resort & Spa in beautiful Carefree, Arizona, just north of Phoenix, was the site of the 2013 Shopping for Health meeting, held there April 28 – May 1. An exclusive group of 20 dietitians representing more than 10,000 grocery stores in every state joined representatives of leading food and beverage companies and associations at the conference. Called “the premiere annual meeting for grocery dietitians” by the dietitians and sponsors alike, Shopping for Health once again provided an opportunity for networking, presentations, sampling of outstanding food, and more.

Shopping for Health supermarket dietitian conferences offer grocery store RDs and consumer advisors a unique way to learn more about the food products they serve, with nutrition information, recipes, and ideas on how to better serve their shoppers. Representatives of participating food companies have the opportunity to present product news and updates, as well as to network with the supermarket dietitians who interact directly with shoppers, right at the point of purchase. New data and research on consumer shopping trends also provides valuable insight into coming trends.

“(This meeting) was fabulous; one of the best conferences I have attended in a long while. So organized; run like clockwork! LOVED!”

“Shopping for Health is the premier meeting for retail nutrition communications professionals. The meeting is always top-notch and the presentations provide information that we can use in our communications programs.”

“Anytime we can interact directly with the brand’s marketing contacts it is a HUGE benefit! Sometimes it can take me two weeks and 10 emails to get a recipe image. When I can make direct contact with these individuals it helps me and also allows me to better promote the food!”

“I met a lot of great new people and many of them were sponsors. I liked that we were able to connect with then on a more of a one on one level. I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend it to a colleague.”

“I found all of the information extremely beneficial, and will brief all of my colleagues on what I learned very soon. I would recommend for any dietitian working in the grocery store setting to attend this conference.”

“I liked how the conference sponsors presented on their food and/or ingredient and how these foods were then incorporated into the meals and/or snacks. Thanks for allowing time after each session and during the conference for us to interact with the sponsors.”

“I liked the fact that you pulled the fabulous location into our activities.”
